Boxing fans were bemused, amused, and annoyed in equal measure after a clip from the recent DAZN and Misfits Boxing event make the rounds on Twitter.
The KSI and DAZN collaboration on crossover events landed in Austin, Texas at the weekend. Whilst there was a good standard of boxing at points – see main event between Deen The Great and Walid Sharks – as well as some drama – Hasim Rahman Jr being knocked down and losing to Greg Hardy – there was also some downright shocking stuff, too.
The undercard featured Josh Brueckner against Chase DeMoor. DeMoor – who is a contestant on a reality TV show and a former college football star – quit on his stool at the end of the third.
Before that, though, MMA fighter Brueckner showed a different level to his opponent, and had DeMoor moving completely mad around the ring. The loser spat his gum shield out to buy time at one stage, and closed his eyes when he threw punches to hope for the best.
In one particular clip, DeMoor looks disorientated as Brueckner feints. Summed up by the original poster as how they ‘throw punches in their dreams’, other fans took the clip and added their own comments to it.

Another user wondered who would pay for such an event, whilst somebody else pointed out that it was how they pointed at the pub after a few too many.
Many laughed at the standard on show, whilst others were angry that such a mismatch could feature on such a high profile card and demanded events like these be stopped. All in all, the reactions sum up the mix of views about this ‘influencer’ side of the sport.
The event was the second in a series that will be broadcast DAZN and jointly promoted by KSI’s Misfits Boxing and Wasserman. The next event will feature KSI himself – the British superstar will face off against inactive MMA fighter Dillon Danis on January 14.
