Savannah Marshall has hit back at the claims made by Claressa Shields – insisting that she is still as determined than ever to meet the American in a huge undispusted showdown.
Marshall (12-0, 10 KOs) and Shields (12-0, 2 KOs) were due to meet in July for the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO middleweight titles, but it appears that the fight is no longer able to take place on that date.

It led to Shields hitting out at Marshall, suggesting that the British star is no longer interested in the fight, but Marshall has given her side of the story and says she just needs some extra preparation to overcome an injury.
Marshall said: "Claressa has a lot to say about it. She says I'm running, but I had an injury straight after my fight in April. We were due to fight in July, and I said I won't be 100% fit for July. I need to be in top form, so I'm asking for 4 or 5 weeks pushback.
"She's kicked off big style, but with the size and magnitude of the fight I don't see what the issue is. I'm not asking for the world here. Claressa is being typical Claressa. If we believed everything that came out of her mouth it would be a crazy world.
"She's my main priority. She's got three of the belts, so what am I meant to do? She's saying I'm running, but she's the one banging on about MMA. Is she a boxer or an MMA fighter? She's doing all this shouting, so it does make you wonder is it her that has something to hide."
