Ryan Garcia came through a tough test against a former world champion in Javier Fortuna last night, as he would knock Fortuna out in the sixth round in Los Angeles.
Garcia would dominate from the get-go as he would dazzle Fortuna with speed and power early on. It would be in round four when a powerful body shot would floor Fortuna, and this would be the beginning of the end for Fortuna.

Garcia's success would continue into the fifth round, as he would seat Fortuna again. The finish would come a round later though. Garcia would unload a vicious flurry of punches which sent Fortuna down for the third and final time in the bout. Garcia would help Fortuna back to his feet and the pair would embrace.
Following the bout, Garcia confirmed that he is done at 135lbs, before calling out Gervonta 'Tank' Davis:
“I’m not going back down to 135lbs for nothing, but I will fight Tank next. If Tank wants that at 140lbs.
“I’m gonna record all the negotiations so you can’t say I’m ducking. That fight’s gonna give me the respect I deserve. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
