Some people remember this day as the day for the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. But all boxing fans will remember this day as Josh Warrington lifted gold at his beloved Elland Road as he beat Lee Selby to pick up the IBF world featherweight title.

Warrington had defeated Dennis Ceylan in a final eliminator for Selby's title, and got his shot next at the home of his boyhood football club Leeds United.
The fight had been in the making for years, but it finally came around, and got off to a rapid start as both men met head on in the middle of the ring, as Warrington's up close style always producing entertaining fights.
Selby picked up a nasty cut over his left eye in round two, as Warrington kept up his relentless pressure up close. Many close rounds passed before Selby was then cut over his right eye in the eighth.
The pair duked it out in an epic fight that went the full 12 rounds. Warrington was announced the winner by split decision on a very blood stained canvas, sparking jubilant celebrations for 'The Leeds Warrior' and his faithful fanbase.
The undercard featured an infamous timekeeping error, as two time Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams knocked out her opponent after the two minute mark, but the bell had never sounded. Adams was declared the victor.
Darren Tetley and Mason Cartwright but on a show as the battled it out for the vacant EBO European welterweight title. The pair traded, and it lead to Cartwright picking up a gruesome cut over his lip, leading to the bout being stopped on doctors orders in round nine.

Jack Catterall continued to ascend up the ranks as he stopped Christopher Sebire in one round, dislocating Sebire's shoulder in the process. Ohara Davies fought for the first time since his controversial exit from Matchroom. Davies picked up a shutout victory over Ahmed Mweva.
