Promoter Lee Eaton put on a fantastic show in the Civic Hall in Grays last night which saw Nina Hughes edge a close decision over Tysie Gallagher to claim the WBO International and Commonwealth super bantamweight titles, whilst Luke Watkins would pick up the English cruiserweight title on the undercard.
Hughes and Gallagher put on a great fight, as they went toe-to-toe for ten hard rounds with both having success and growing in confidence throughout. Somebody's 0 had to go, as these two unbeaten prospects put on a show. The scorecards would read 95-95, 97-93 and 96-4 in favour of Hughes, inflicting the first blemish on Gallagher's professional record. Jubilant celebrations were sparked when Hughes was announced the victor in her hometown to pick up both the WBO International and Commonwealth titles.
