The most bizarre knockout took place last night in Montreal, as Top Rank's latest acquisition, Simon Kean (21-1) faced Newfel Ouatah (18-3).
Top Rank confirmed a co-promotional deal with Eye Of The Tiger Management to guide the career of the heavyweight knockout artist, Kean. Kean resides in Canada and Top Rank has all intentions to land him a big title shot in his home country.
Kean had a bout pencilled in to take place after the confirmation of his signing and would look to make a statement to impress his new promoters. However, his opponent, Ouatah, did not let him have his chance. As the bell rang for the first round, Kean would approach centre ring but Ouatah would stay in his corner, take a knee and raise his arm. Kean did land an illegal punch on Ouatah whilst he was on one knee but the ref would ignore this and proceed to count Ouatah out just 15 seconds after the first bell.

Ouatah has yet to speak out on his decision to do this, but it adds a first-round TKO loss to his record, as Kean would now move 22-1 and looks to move on from this strange night under the watchful eye of Top Rank.
