In Gorman's first fight since March 2021, he put the pressure on his Czech opponent Salek early on in the first. Gorman would then find a breakthrough as he dropped Salek with a series of chopping hooks.
Gorman would then force Salek onto the ropes, unloading some sharp combinations, and it was a flush left uppercut that would send Salek to the canvas for a second time. Salek would make it to his feet but would wobble all over the ring, prompting referee Steve Gray to stop the fight in the first round.

Gorman's successful return sees him pick up the IBF International belt, which would propel him into the heavyweight rankings. Gorman's statement victory should set up big fights for Gorman in the near future.
