Muhammad Ali, born Cassius Clay Jr would have turned 80 years of age today if it wasn't for ill health. He was a pioneer for the sport of boxing and affected the lives of many. At 18 he won the gold medal at the 1960 Olympic games and then later turned professional that year. Ali stood up for what he believed in and as well as winning the heavyweight championship of the world, he risked it all when he refused to be drafted into the military due to his religious beliefs. This came at a cost as he had to serve four years out of the ring whilst he fought his case which was eventually over turned. His accomplishments were never ending and its fitting on today of all days that we can still look back and enjoy some of his greatest moment’s.
