Kiko Martinez stunned Sheffield last night, by stopping Kid Galahad in his tracks, dropping the new champion in both the 5th and 6th round and knocking his man out.
Galahad only won the belt in August, at Matchroom's Fight Camp series where he beat Jazza Dickens for the vacant title. He had been hoping for fights with the likes of Josh Warrington, Gary Russell Jr, Leigh Wood and Leo Santa Cruz, but it appears none of those will now be happening.

The end started in round five, when Martinez caught Galahad flush at the end of the round. The champion went down, but was fortunate enough to be hit right at the end of the round and next to his own corner, who were immediately able to pull him back and give him a breather.
The sixth though started in the worst possible way for Galahad – exactly as the fifth had ended. Martinez strolled forward as the bell to open the round rang, feinted a jab and threw a vicious over hand right which Galahad received in it's entirety.

Unclear where Galahad goes from here, he had seemed destined for a long reign, he'll have to rebuild to get back to the top of the mountain.
