Rodriguez etched his name into stardom, as he went toe-to-toe with Rungvisai, and produced a masterclass of a performance. Rodriguez found the breakthrough in round seven, as he caused Rungvisai to touch the canvas after landing a clean left hook. The fight would enter the eighth round but would also end in that round, as he backed Rungvisai back to the ropes and unloaded a brutal flurry of punches prompting the ref to jump in and stop the bout.
