This weekend see's the ring return of Canelo Alvarez, as he takes on Dmitry Bivol in a show promoted by Eddie Hearn.
IntuBoxing caught up with Hearn at the fighter grand arrivals last night in Vegas. The conversation began about the epic bout between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano last week, which was co promoted by Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions.
Hearn confirmed to IntuBoxing that Jake Paul told him that away from the camera, Paul told him that he is serious about fighting Canelo. Hearn said "You've got to believe in yourself and his [Jake Paul] confidence is getting him to a certain level in boxing.
"But he's also deluded, but sometimes I'm probably a bit deluded aswell.
"If people want to see him face Canelo Alvarez, and Canelo Alvarez gets paid what he wants to get paid, he may even do it. Canelo will do it, he won't mind."
Hearn went on to assess Canelo's oppoonent this weekend: "Very tough fight, because Dmitry Bivol is fresh. You know he's never been in trouble in a fight, he's never been hurt in a fight, he's already beaten Joe Smith the other world champion.
"He's been waiting for an opportunity like this for a long time now he's gonna get it, but he's gonna have to be a pound for pound great to beat Canelo Alvarez."
Hearn was also asked if their was any update about what network Anthony Joshua will be broadcast on going forward: "No, I mean obviously talks we're reviewing the proposals from Sky with 258 obviously DAZN, but we're more focused on getting a fight nailed, and hopefully we can announce that next week."
