Last night headlining on DAZN, Conor Benn sent a message to the welterweight division, by stopping Chris Algieri in brutal fashion. The former world champion, Algieri, had only been stopped previously by Errol Spence Jr in the fifth round back in 2016, but Benn showed his stature in the division by stopping the fight in the fourth round.

Conor Benn will not be short of offers from any of the highest ranked welterweights of any sanctioning body, but he has a certain athlete in mind for such the occasion. He has identified another former world champion, Adrien Broner, as the man he wishes to make a statement against next. Broner fought once this year defeating Jovanie Santiago in February by unanimous decision.
