Baumgardner announced herself on the world stage back in November, when she travelled to the UK to unseat Terri Harper as world champion, stopping Harper in the fourth round in devastating fashion. Baumgardner insists she is not overlooking Matthysse, however, she does see IBF and WBO champion Mikaela Mayer in her future.
IntuBoxing caught up with Baumgardner at her publc workout in Manchester, and when asked about a potential fight with Mayer in the future, she stated: "I will dog walk that b*tch in the ring."
Matthysse is a tough durable opponent for Baumgardner, she may have 11 losses on her, but she has never been stopped in her 15 year long career.
Baumgardner was due to fight on the Chocolatito vs Martinez bill in San Diego on March 5th, but an injury put halt to that as she now finds a late addition to a stacked card in Manchester this Saturday.
