Tyson Fury has given five reasons he beats Joe Joyce – and four of them are serious.
Despite both having big followings in Britain, a fight between Fury and Joyce would gain attention the world over. Two huge heavyweights with undefeated records and some very impressive recent knockouts.
IFL TV spoke to Fury about the potential fight. Despite saying in the past that Joyce was the toughest test for him, even then he believes he’s levels apart.
“100%, he’s another big man who wants a fight so he can have it too. Big Joe can get a hiding and all, not a problem.”
Could Joyce perhaps provide a tough test? Not according to ‘The Gypsy King.’
“No. Because one, I’m bigger than him, two, I’m stronger than him and three I’m heavier than him. Four I’m faster than him and five I’ve got a bigger corey than he does as well! So how’s he going to beat me?”
Other than number five – which surely can’t be much help in the ring – Fury’s reasoning seems sound. What he didn’t reference is Joyce’s incredible engine alongside his uncanny ability to take a punch.
It’s these attributes, alongside ‘The Juggernaut’s tendency to break down opponents with thudding shot after thudding shot, that makes the domestic clash exciting for fans.
‘The Gypsy King’ said he would happily face him after the Usyk fight, and insisted that it would land at Wembley. As WBO Interim Champion, Joyce is in a good position to challenge the winner of the undisputed fight, and Fury’s confident that it will be him.
