Tommy Fury has weighed in 7lbs over the light heavyweight 175lb limit launching his bout with Paul Bamba on the Mayweather vs Deji undercard into jeopardy.
Fury, who has been linked with a bout with Jake Paul multiple times in the last 12 months, is due to fight Bamba who holds a record of 5-2, but Fury has weighed in at 181.4lbs.
Verbals were exchanged between the fighters, with Bamba, who weighed in at 174.6lbs, confronting the former Love Island star:
“You don’t make weight. It sucks. You are about 7lbs overweight and I want the world to know. Everyone is going to find out.”
Fury has since stated that he had to be around 178.5lbs and boxing bodies have reportedly agreed to let him fight, providing he can drop almost 3lbs.
Bamba is still furious and has now insisted that he wants 20 percent of the British fighter’s purse if the fight does go ahead as he believes it is an ‘unfair’ weight variation.
‘TNT’ still promises a big performance in Dubai as he went on to say:
“I am ready to go and will put a huge show on. I have trained eight weeks for this and a big dirty knockout is coming.”
As it stands, Fury vs Bamba is still going ahead, and we will be seeing ‘TNT’ compete for the first time since appearing on the undercard of his brother, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury at Wembley Stadium in April.
