One of boxings brightest young stars and unified super featherweight world champion Shakur Stevenson returns to the ring on September 23rd to face Robson Conceicao in the first defence of his unified reign in his hometown of Newark, New Jersey.
Stevenson held the WBO title coming into his bout with WBC champion Oscar Valdez in April. Stevenson showed his class to defeat the previously undefeated Valdez to become both the WBO and WBC world champion.
Conceicao challenged for Valdez's WBC title prior to the unification between Stevenson and Valdez. Valdez would defeat Conceicao but people were not happy with this result. Conceicao returned to defeat Xavier Martinez over ten rounds to line himself up for a shot at Stevenson's gold.
Stevenson and Conceicao meet at the Prudential Center in Newark on Friday September 23rd, as Stevenson looks to move even higher up the pound-for-pound rankings.
