Former WBO middleweight champion Savannah Marshall was in attendance for the Cymru Premier clash between Caernarfon Town and Aberystwyth Town just a week on from her fight-of-the-year contender with Claressa Shields.
‘The Silent Assassin’ was one-half of the headline act of the most watched women’s sporting event to be broadcast on Sky Sports last Saturday, as she and Shields duked it out in one of the most anticipated women’s fights in boxing. Marshall came up short by unanimous decision in a fight that lived up to and even exceeded expectations.
One week on and Marshall was seen in the away end for a Cymru Premier clash at The Oval in Caernarfon, North Wales.

The former world champion would be present as her nephew, Harry Arnison, who had a cameo appearance in the Sky Sports ‘Behind The Ropes’ preview shows ahead of Marshall’s fight with Shields, would be commanding the midfield for Aberystwyth Town.
Unfortunately, Marshall wasn’t able to be the good luck charm for Aberystwyth, as they fell to a 2-1 defeat. The club took to Twitter following the game, referring to Marshall as ‘Sporting Royalty’ and promised a warm welcome if she was to attend a home game.
We were joined by sporting royalty in @CaernarfonTown last night! Thank you @Savmarshall1 and @a15rno for joining the #Greenarmy in Gwynedd! Result aside, we hope you enjoyed your evening! A warm welcome awaits you in Ceredigion 🥊#AberAsOne #Seasiders pic.twitter.com/p1HWNKJQxY

It’s great to see the ‘Silent Assassin’ out and about enjoying a very well-deserved break after playing her part in history just over a week ago, and I’m sure we all are in agreement that we look forward to seeing Marshall back in the ring soon.
