Intuboxing.com has learned that former four-weight World Champion, Adrien Broner has been arrested … again.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Broner was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning over an outstanding warrant from Cuyahoga County. The arrest stems from Broner violating his probation from a misdemeanour charge of assault and unlawful restraint that dates back to August 2019. It is reported that Broner failed to appear for a violation hearing back in March of this year, which has led to a warrant for his arrest being sent to the Cuyahoga Sheriff. This warrant was recalled on April 14th.
Broner then appeared in court on April 26th where his probation was extended by a year. He was also ordered to enter an intensive outpatient treatment programme. Broner has thus failed to do so and a second warrant for his arrest has since been issued.
It is being reported that Broner was brought in by police at around 1am on Sunday. He was then released on bail on a $25,000 cash bond. He is expected to return to court today.
Broner returned to the ring in February with a unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten Jovanie Santiago. A potential fight with Conor Benn has been mentioned several times by both Benn and promoter, Eddie Hearn. However, with Broner’s legal issues, it’s highly unlikely he would be allowed to enter the UK at this present time.
