The third instalment of Wasserman Boxing's TV deal with Channel 5 sees them take over the North East as Josh Kelly headlines a stacked bill against dangerous Argentinian contender Lucas Bastida for the WBO International super welterweight title at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle.

Former Olympian Kelly bounced back in Liverpool just over a month ago, as he implemented his slick skills and underrated power to stop Peter Kramer. This was Kelly's first fight since his loss to David Avanesyan in February 2021 and Kelly shook off any ring rust against Kramer 16 months on. The quick turnaround shows Kelly's eagerness to keep the momentum rolling and embark on his quest toward world title glory. Kelly has also been mandated to fight for the British title, a title held by a man who confirmed he will be watching from ringside Saturday. Troy Williamson. Kelly cannot afford to look past Bastida though, a tough Argentinian fighter whose only loss came four years ago in his fourth bout. Bastida has a record of 18-1-1 and ten of those victories come by knockout, suggesting Bastida carries heavy power into this bout.

Harlem Eubank returns to the ring in Newcastle following his brutal stoppage of Sean Dodd last time out. Eubank was initially pencilled into square off with Liverpool's Tom Farrell, however, a positive Covid-19 test for Farrell put a stop to that. Eubank now faces off with Mexican Eliot Chavez. Eubank will need to remain switched on as Mexican fighters have a history of coming over and upsetting UK fighters.

One of the most sought-after British prospects and Olympic silver medalist Pat McCormack has his second pro fight. McCormack looks to build on his debut victory when he faces Dimitri Trenel in the North East this Saturday. This Saturday also sees an IBO International title fight take place in the featherweight division, as Birmingham's Raza Hamza squares off with Roberto Rodriguez Nucamendi.
An interesting fight between two undefeated heavyweight prospects takes place on this bill as Hosea Stewart squares off with Franklin Ignatius, Stewart is 2-0 and Ignatius is 3-0 so it is refreshing to see two undefeated fighters square off so early in their careers. The other heavyweight presence on the card sees Steve Robinson look to return to winning ways following his shock loss in February.
2018 Commonwealth games Gold medalist Lisa Whiteside looks to move to 4-0 in the pro game. Whiteside returns after almost three years out and will look to shed any ring rust when she faces Jasmina Nad this Saturday. Jordan Baker-Porter looks to continue her hot run of form which has seen her win her last three bouts. Baker-Porter faces the tough test of Bec Connolly in the North East.
Darlington's Ben Marksby looks to move to 5-0 when he faces the tough Rustem Fatkhullin in front of the Channel 5 cameras. Prospect Kai Richmond looks to impress again in his second bout following his comprehensive victory on his debut earlier in the year.
The previous two shows from Wasserman Boxing on Channel 5 have broken TV records and drawn in over a million viewers each, and that will look to continue this Saturday. The undercard action begins on the SportBible YouTube page before the broadcast starts at 10 pm on Channel 5.
