Montana ‘Too Pretty’ Love had a nightmare homecoming as he was disqualified in the sixth round against Stevie Spark.
Love had been down in round two, and grew frustrated, resulting in him sending Spark over the top rope in the sixth round, leading to the referee disqualifying the home fighter.
Spark was full of confidence as the pair engaged in round one, but round two saw Love on the floor, as the Aussie would force the home fighter against the rope and drop the American with a combination.

‘Too Pretty’ regained control and composed himself as he looked to get back into the fight, but Spark was still dangerous.
However, all hell would break loose in the sixth, as the Cleveland resident backed Spark against the ropes and pushed the Aussie with force and leaned on his man, resulting in Spark tumbling over the ropes, landing on his feet in the front row.

An outraged Spark jumped back into the ring and sent back to his corner, the referee came to speak to him and Spark jumped up on the ropes to celebrate, as the referee confirmed Love’s disqualification.
Promoter Eddie Hearn spoke after the bout and was not happy about the decision:
I saw it right in front of me. It was a terrible decision by the referee,
“He acted way too quickly. It was 20-30 seconds of madness, from the headbutt to the doctor coming in, I don’t know. Everyone looked loss in the decision-making process. Montana was rough but he was right, he didn’t pick him up.
“Credit to Stevie Spark. When he fell out of the ring, he got right back up and made his way back to the ring. Montana Love didn’t look for a way out, it was turning into a real fight. Montana got off the floor. The referees got to stop making these quick decisions. The referee has a tough job but that was a poor decision. Maybe we’ll do it again.”
Spark picks up the WBA Inter-Continental super lightweight title, as Love controversially tastes defeat for the first time as a pro.
