Liam Smith did the unthinkable and knocked out Chris Eubank Jr in Manchester.
‘Beefy’ dropped Eubank Jr twice on his way to a vicious knockout victory in round four of their domestic grudge match.
Both men entered the ring to different atmospheres, as Smith entered to a cacophony of cheers, whilst Eubank Jr was welcomed by a chorus of boo’s.
A tight opener, with many leaning towards Smith taking it with the better work of the two. Eubank Jr responded in the second as he came out with more intent, moving frequently in an attempt to bewilder the Liverpudlian. However, ‘Beefy’ would plant his feet and catch his man on occasions throughout the round.
Eubank Jr found success in round three, keeping Smith at the end of his jab, before unleashing a ruthless set of uppercuts to snap the head back of the Liverpudlian.
Round four saw the ending of the fight in a brutal fashion. Eubank Jr got caught in the corner and was unable to escape as Smith piled on the pressure, and a vicious uppercut landed and sent the Brighton man to the canvas.
Eubank Jr rose to his feet but was unsteady, referee Victor Loughlin let the bout continue, and Smith jumped straight in and floored Eubank Jr again, as he rose for the second time, Loughlin waved the bout off declaring the Liverpudlian the victor by TKO.

Jubilant scenes in the Smith corner followed, as ‘Beefy’ was the betting underdog and made a mockery of the bookies. There was a rematch clause in the contract if Eubank Jr were to lose, so there is a high possibility the rematch could be next, if not, Smith will be embarking on a journey to becoming a two-time world champion.
