Chris Eubank Jr's promoter Kalle Sauerland has confirmed that the bout between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn is still on, despite Eubank Jr's father claiming he was pulling his son out of the bout.
Reports emerged yesterday that Chris Eubank Sr was pulling his son out of the bout as he was concerned about his sons safety with the substantial weight cut to the 157lbs limit, as he referenced the tragic death of his other son, Sebastian, by saying: "My son's life cannot be put in danger… I've already lost one. It can't happen again."
Today, Eubank Jr's promoter appeared on TalkSport and confirmed the bout was still going ahead by stating: "We don't have a contract with Chris Eubank Sr, we have a contract with Chris Eubank Jr."
As it stands, Eubank Jr. and Benn will lock horns at the O2 Arena on October 8th, just shy of the 30-year anniversary of the father's historic first bout.
