Jake Paul picked up his sixth victory in a boxing ring last Saturday when he defeated UFC legend Anderson Silva, yet his brother Logan believed it was time for ‘The Problem Child’ to hang up the gloves.
Paul added the biggest name yet to his boxing resume when he defeated Silva, as Silva was the first man that Paul had faced with a professional boxing record.
The Youtuber-turned-boxer defeated Silva on points, even sending the Brazilian to the canvas in the final round of their contest.
In the days following his victory, Paul disclosed a subject of a private conversation between himself and his brother, Logan. Speaking to MMA Fighting, ‘The Problem Child’ revealed his brother told him to retire.
“My brother [Logan] says that I should retire and leave the world and people with their jaws dropped.”
Paul would shut down his brother’s advice, as he confirmed that this is just the start of his boxing journey, but he does love having his brother involved and is inspired by him every day.
“I think this is just the start, I’m really starting to get good and there’s a lot of people that I want to beat. I also want to be a champion.”
“(Logan) gave me a speech in the locker room. I love that man so much and he just put it all in perspective as to what we are accomplishing together.
“It’s so amazing to have a partner in crime, the kid is a genius and he’s such a kind person. I look up to him and he inspires me every day.”
Paul’s brother has competed in boxing himself, having two fights with fellow Youtuber and now business partner KSI, before competing in an exhibition with Floyd Mayweather. Logan has since drifted over to the land of professional wrestling, where he challenges Roman Reigns for the top prize in WWE this weekend, with Jake in his corner.
