On what seemed like a steady day for boxing news, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury decide to up the ante and seemingly confirm a bout between them on Twitter for August 6th. Paul had already announced that he was to fight in Madison Square Garden on August 6th, but no opponent was confirmed. Paul and Fury were supposed to square off last year, but an injury to Fury in the lead-up cancelled the bout, with UFC star Tyron Woodley stepping in as Paul's opponent.

Paul took to Twitter and gave Fury a 24-hour deadline to agree to a fight with him, tweeting: "Tommy Fury, you pulled out last year. Then you agree to fight me now but your dad is trying to pull you out again? We’ve given you everything you asked for $2M purse, VADA testing, Tampon’s, You have 24 hours 2 clear this up or I will never give u this opportunity again"

Paul has now taken to Twitter, to callout Fury, as he says: "Yet again, I wake up this morning to another text from my manager saying Tommy Fury is pulling out of the fight.
"We agreed to his $2 million purse, agreed VADA Testing, extra flights, extra rooms, extra tickets to the fight, we're scheduled to have a press conference in New York. His whole entire team was like everything's good, we're signing the contract today, it kept on getting pushed, til now, what's the excuse? Oh, I can't do it because my dad can't be there with me."

Fury has since responded to the video, as he unofficially confirms the fight is on, tweeting: "The fight is on. August 6th. Forget a team or any other bullshit. I don’t need anybody to help me lay you flat on that canvas. Oh and thanks for finally signing the drug testing… you only agreed to it when you realised the fight was at risk – who needs who."

Fury has also posted a video on his Instagram page, claiming the hold-up was on Paul's end, as he was taking too long to sign up for VADA Testing. Fury also confirms the fight is on as far as he is concerned.
