Ilunga Makabu retained his belt after scoring a split decision victory over Thabiso Mchunu. Makabu has said his next fight will be Canelo Alvarez which would see Canelo make a huge jump up in weight classes to challenge for the WBC title. Canelo was last out against Caleb Plant where he won by knockout to become undisputed super middleweight champion. With Canelo dominating his current division the question will be how will he cope at cruiserweight and would it be worth the risk.
