Devin Haney RETAINS Undisputed Status Defeating George Kambosos Jr

Written by Jared Parry on 16th October 2022.

Devin Haney retained all his lightweight belts with a unanimous decision over George Kambosos Jr.

The American cruised to victory, as he defeated Kambosos Jr for a second time in enemy territory.

Kambosos Jr had changed up his tactics from the first fight as he seemed to engage more, but Haney was as sharp as he’s ever been on his second trip to Australia.

Kambosos Jr had his man pinned on the ropes in the first round, but the champion would respond and finish the round well, carrying the momentum into round two.

Throughout the fight, Kambosos Jr displayed some great work, but Haney would continuously land flush on the Aussie fighter.

The champion looked well on course to defend his belts, as he extended a big lead and would not allow Kambosos Jr to get back into the fight, as he just continued the work that had brought him all his success throughout. The final bell rang, and it seemed like ‘The Dream’ had won by shutout decision, despite some of Kambosos Jr’s flashy and effective work.

Two scorecards read 118-110 and the other read 118-109 all in favour of the Las Vegas resident, keeping him at the top of the lightweight mountain.
