Matchroom promoter, Eddie Hearn, told Jermaine Franklin that he will be next to face Anthony Joshua if he can get through Dillian Whyte.
Speaking on the ‘Face off’ for Matchroom Boxing, Hearn stated that Franklin could be set to make millions of dollars should he defeat ‘The Body Snatcher’.
“If you win this fight, you’re getting the Anthony Joshua fight. AJ wants to fight Dillian Whyte. Maybe that’s one for the future. But for you to come over as an American to beat a Brit in London, you will get that fight, and you will make millions of dollars. So all you’ve got to do is go through this guy to make millions of dollars.”
Franklin looks to build on his undefeated record against Dillian Whyte, who makes his return to the ring after suffering a knockout loss to Tyson Fury in April.
Although the offer of millions of dollars is tempting for the American, he understands the challenge he needs to face before considering a fight with the former heavyweight world champion, Anthony Joshua.
“I’ll worry about that after I get this win.”
The pair both have a lot on the line as Franklin will be seeking another win, whilst Dillian Whyte will want to prove he is still a top contender in the heavyweight division.
Their bout will be broadcast live on DAZN on 26th November from London and fans could expect to see Anthony Joshua in attendance – perhaps interested to see his next potential opponent in action.
‘AJ’ is expected to return to the ring in early 2023 against the winner, as the former champion builds himself back up from two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk.
