Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Ryan Garcia have reportedly agreed to fight in January in an all-American blockbuster.
The two fighters have been trading verbals over social media, and whenever they crossed paths in person, but now they have reportedly struck up a deal to collide in Las Vegas in January at a 136lb catch weight.

Davis holds the WBA ‘Regular’ lightweight title, and he defended it against Rolly Romero with a vicious sixth-round knockout back in May. Garcia was in attendance for that bout and would lose a $20,000 bet with unified welterweight champion Errol Spence, as Garcia backed Romero to win.
Garcia put on a stunning performance last time out, as he dropped former world champion Javier Fortuna three times on his way to a sixth-round stoppage victory. Garcia stated he was going to move to super lightweight after the Fortuna victory, but it looks like a catchweight bout with Davis is on the cards.
Reports do also state that there is still some way to go in negotiations, as a broadcaster for this bout could become an issue as both are signed with different networks, with ‘Tank’ commonly fighting on Showtime and Garcia being a showpiece for DAZN. However, this bout would be huge for boxing and has been brewing for quite some time, so we hope that it comes to fruition.
