Today, Diamante released a statement regarding those injuries and thanking everyone for their support.
Diamante states that: "One of the broken vertabrae was thrust into my spinal cord and causing complete paralysis. Unfortunately, that vertabrae still remains lodged in my spinal cord because my surgeon Dr. Pyun feared it could cause paralysis if he took it out."
"Dr Pyun inserted to rods and nine screws to stablize my spine and performed bone grafts." said Diamante.

Diamante goes on to claim it wasn't only his back that doctors found an issue with: "Another issue is my knee. The doctors were afraid I might have to undergo surgery for that injury too, which could've sidelined me for even more time."
Diamante returned to the ring on March 5th 2022, as the MC for the Chocolatito vs Martinez fight night.

However, Diamante does state that "I'm still injured and in the healing process. To a casual observer, I might appear to be fine. I'm not." In many ways this has changed my life forever."
Diamante finishes with inspirational words: "The power of hard work and positive thinking is immeasurable. Never give up!!!"
