Gary Cully continues his rise toward a world title, stopping Wilfredo Flores in two rounds.
A huge left hand from ‘The Diva’ dropped Flores, before unloading a barrage of punches forcing the referee to stop the bout.
From the opening bell, the height and reach advantage was visibly in Cully’s favour, and he used it to great effect. The Irishman opened a cut over his opponent’s right eye in round one, as he finished the round strong.
The Irishman closed the show in the following round, as Flores ate a powerful left hand which sent him crashing to the canvas. Flores rose to his feet but was clearly on unsteady legs. ‘The Diva’ pounced, unloading shots, giving the referee no choice but to stop the bout.

Cully makes it two early nights on the bounce and has cemented his name as a threat to anyone at lightweight. Following the bout, promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that the Irishman will be chief support to Irish icon Katie Taylor when she fights Amanda Serrano in a rematch in Dublin on May 20th.
‘The Diva’ called for big names, such as Maxi Hughes and Jorge Linares, but we know that we will next see him in the ring in his home country on May 20th.
