Michael Conlan couldn’t pick a winner when asked about the IBF world title fight in his division between Josh Warrington and Luis Alberto Lopez.
Conlan fights this Saturday against Karim Guerfi in his hometown of Belfast, whilst across the water, Warrington defends his world title against Lopez in Leeds on the same night.
In an interview with Boxing Social, Conlan was asked to give a prediction on the fight between Warrington and Lopez but couldn’t pick a winner.
“I’m swaying back and forward, some days, I’m saying Warrington, some days I’m saying Lopez.
“But I think, you know, what Josh needs to do to win is fight exactly how he fought Frampton. Have that kind of, you know, set a routine of how he’s going to box, attacking at certain times, moving at certain times and changing it up, not just going for a war.
“It’s one I don’t really know, it’s 50/50 in my opinion, one day I’ll say, Lopez, the next I’ll say, Warrington.”
“It’s 50/50!” 🗣️@mickconlan11 feels that there’s not much between @J_Warrington and Luis Alberto Lopez. He says their fight this Saturday could go either way 👀 pic.twitter.com/vkwybOK67V

Conlan was asked if he would like Warrington to win to make a fight down the line but wasn’t too bothered as he saw positives if Lopez would win.
“It doesn’t really matter, if the fight happens down the line, fantastic. But, if Lopez wins, I could have that fight next.
“It’s a mandatory, and Lopez is a Top Rank fighter.
With it being a mandatory for Warrington means that there will not be a rematch clause. Conlan also boxes under the Top Rank banner like Lopez, so there wouldn’t be any promotional hurdles.
Warrington vs Lopez goes down in Leeds on Saturday live on DAZN, whilst Conlan’s clash with Guerfi can be watched live on the Fite TV app for £4.99.
