The most anticipated fight in female boxing history was due to take place this Saturday between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall, however, there are things in life bigger than boxing and the bout has been postponed until October 15th as a mark of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The news of her majesty's passing was confirmed last night and the UK and the Commonwealth has entered an extended period of mourning. Major sports leagues such as Premier League football have also announced the postponement of their fixtures over the course of this weekend.
