Joe Joyce has opted to free up the Lord Lonsdale belt in the heavyweight division as he has released a statement claiming that its time for the new generation to challenge for the belt.
The British title is one of boxing’s most iconic belts. I’m proud to have won it, but now is the time for me to let the next generation fight for it as I seek world honours, good luck too @Fabio_Wardley @GormanBoxing @SolomonDacres @JohnnyFisherBox @DavidAdeleye#THEJUGGERNAUT ???????? pic.twitter.com/qTZojAQ6OV

Joyce defeated Daniel Dubois in November 2020 to pick up the prestigious belt via tenth round TKO, but has made the decision to vacate the belt to pursue world honours.
The British Boxing Board of Control have determined Nathan Gorman and Fabio Wardley as the challengers for the vacant belt. Joyce also mentioned Solomon Dacres, Johnny Fisher and David Adeleye in his statement deeming them as future challengers for the belt.
