A rivalry from the amateurs finally comes to a head in the pro game as IBF, WBA and WBC middleweight champion Claressa Shields travels to the UK to face WBO champion Savannah Marshall for an undisputed showdown at the O2 Arena, London on September 10th.
Shields was only ever defeated once in the amateurs, and Marshall was the woman responsible for that loss. Since the pair have been in the professional ranks, both women have gone undefeated. Shields has picked up multiple world titles over multiple divisions, as Marshall has only held her WBO title.
Last time out, Shields comprehensively outboxed Ema Kozin in her UK debut in February, Marshall was ringside, and had a few choice words for Shields following the bout.
Marshall last time out emphatically became the first woman to stop Femke Hermans, as she knocked her out in round three of their bout.
The collision course from the pair reaches its end on September 10th as Shields and Marshall finally clash in the professional ranks in front of a packed out O2 Arena in London, live on Sky Sports.
