Former four weight world champion, and the ever entertaining Adrien Broner returns to the ring after a 16 month hiatus as he faces Omar Figueroa Jr. at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida.
Broner was last seen in the ring in February 2021, where he would labour to a unanimous decision over Jovanie Santiago. Broner is reaching the latter stages of his career, and could well be looking to finish his career with one last world title run, as his last reign came in 2016 when he defeated Ashley Theophane for the vacant WBA super lightweight title.
Figueroa Jr. is a former world champion too, as he won the WBC lightweight title in 2014 when he was elevated from interim champion following victory over Nihito Arakawa. However, Figueroa Jr. comes into the Broner fight coming off the back of two losses, firstly to Yordenis Ugas, and then too Abel Ramos.
The pair meet on August 20th in a must win bout for both, the fight takes place in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida and will be shown live on Showtime in the US.
