Whyte to lose WBC #1 spot if insults continue!!

WBC president has had enough of ‘The Bodysnatcher’s’ continued media taunts.

By Aaron Cooper   - @intuboxing

IntuBoxing.com has learned that Brixton heavyweight, Dillian Whyte’s position as the World Boxing Council’s number one contender is in jeopardy, according to council President, Mauricio Sulaiman.

Whyte has been rather vocal, and at times derogatory towards the governing body. At first glance, one can hardly blame him. After a nigh-on 600 day stay atop the rankings. A fight with WBC world heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder is nowhere in sight.

Whyte was offered an eliminator against former Wilder foe, Luis Ortiz. Whyte rejected that fight, refusing to jump through yet another hoop in his quest to face Wilder.

However, in vocalising his clear frustration. He could well put a fight for the WBC title even further out of his grasp ... if he doesn’t keep his thoughts to himself ...

‘ We have spoken at length with Eddie Hearn and Dillian Whyte’s group. Unfortunately, they have turned this into a media circus. This is highly regrettable because that influences the process,” Sulaiman told Seconds Out.

“We have the highest respect for Dillian Whyte. He is our number one contender. Our Silver champion, my friend and a tremendous fighter. But to be insulted over and over again makes it very difficult to continue addressing a situation.

“We are going through a mediation process, but if they want to handle it through the press it may change.

“We offered Dillian Whyte a fight for the interim championship since last October and they’ve been stalling. I’m a little bit frustrated that British fans are only getting one side of the story.

“I’ve been getting insults on social media, trashing my father’s reputation, insulting my family. We stand for justice, our history is very clear and we will do the just thing via the right process,” he added.

The interim title fight spoken of was slated to be against Tyson Fury. However after both parties seemed keen. Nothing ever came of it.
