Whyte Substance Failure Revealed

The mystery is no more

By Aaron Cooper   - @IntuBoxing

IntuBoxing.com reported news of WBC 'Interim' World Heavyweight Champion,Dillian Whyte reportedly failing a drugs test yesterday. The news has sent shockwaves through the boxing world.

The test, undertaken by UKAD occured three days before both he, and opponent, Oscar Rivas stepped through the ropes of London's O2 Arena. Up until now the boxing world has been in the dark as to just what Whyte tested positive for.

IntuBoxing.com can now confirm that Whyte tested positive for epimethandienone and hydroxymethandienone. Both substances are two metabolites of the well known steroid ... dinabol.

Dinabol, which can still be purchased in the United Kingdom, but is banned in the United States of America. Is well known and well used amongst bodybuilders.

It should be noted that the amount of both substances found in 'The Bodysnatcher''s 'A' test sample was very small. There is a chance that lightening could have struck Whyte twice, and he could have ingested the substance as part of a supplement, much like he did 7 years ago when he incured a two year ban from the sport.

British Boxing Board of Control General Secretary, Robert Smith issues this press release today.

With regard to the above, United Kingdom Anti-Doping undertake all anti-doping procedures on behalf of the British Boxing Board of Control and any subsequent findings, decisions, suspensions and sanctions are upheld by the British Boxing Board of Control in line with United Kingdom Anti-Doping.

No further comment will be made at this time.

Dillian Whyte has yet to comment on the matter. His promoter Eddie Hearn has issued a statement, in which he neither confirms nor denies that his fighter has tested positive.

Given the cat is out of the bag so to speak, we wait eagerly with baited breath for a statement from either man.
