Fury delivers but calibre of opponent questioned
His knockout was 'big and dirty' as promised, but the calibre of Tommy Fury's opponent was the topic of much online conversation last night, as the brother of Heavyweight king Tyson once again made short work of his opponent.
The nature of boxing fans, specifically online, is an unforgiving and relentless one - as others have pointed out, the expectation nor criticism would be nearly as high if we weren't talking about the brother of the Heavyweight king/Love Islander.
In Frank Warren, father John and others, Tommy is working with one of the most experienced teams in the sport, who will no doubt have a roadmap set out for his progression. Yes fans would love to see him move up through the ranks, and fighters like Lyndon Arthur, Craig Richards, Anthony Yarde would love to take him on, but if Fury is here for the long haul, he has to build up his resume.
Here's how he did it last night.
