Leigh Wood stops Reece Mould with a stunning punch
It has been nearly two months since the last Sky Sports fight night, with the last event televised being the Anthony Joshua victory over Kubrat Pulev.
On the undercard of Josh Warrington and Mauricio Lara, there was a British Featherweight Title fight between Leigh Wood and Reece Mould. Wood came into the fight with the more championship fight experience having fought for the Commonwealth title and also a European title. Mould has only fought for one title before beating Sean Davis for the English title by knockout in the fourth round.
In typical British title fight fashion, both men have come into this full of confidence and with massive hearts. The third round, Reece Mould landed some snapping jabs and hooks and landed flush, subsequently in the fourth round Wood came out and landed hard on Mould and after a succession of punches Mould hits the canvas.
What a finish! Leigh Wood came into the ninth round up on the scorecards and landed a short left punch and floored Mould once again. Mould beat the count then was hit with another flurry of punches and the referee stepped in as Mould was going down once again. What a finish.
