Huge finish for Spider to claim British Title
A massive finish for Craig Richards saw him take the British Light Heavyweight title from Shakan Pitters as 'Spider' claimed a 9th round KO.
Shakan had been down in the 4th, executing a perfect double jab then chopping down right hand to the champion, who looked wobbly at first, but cleared his head and came again.

From that point, the fight was swinging each way, both men looking sharp, moving well with gas in the tank.
The 9th came around though and Richards, surely kicking himself having not pressed harder in the 4th, caught Pitters with a big shot. Clinging to the ropes for support, the champion stumbled backwards, desperate to get space and try to steady his legs.
This time however, Richards wasn't going to let his man recover. A ruthless combination cuminated with a left hook right on the button as Shakan threw in desperation.
The head went back, the knees bent as Richards stood over Pitters. The ref began the count, but then waved off. A terrific win for Richards, and although the rematch was mentioned by the pundits, you would expect Richards to look up pretty quickly as the division begins to stir.
Lyndon Arthur would be an obviousl suggestion following his win over Anthony Yarde, though Yarde is still an attractive proposition, Callum Johnson, Joshua Buatsi and others, the division is fast becoming the one to watch.
Congratulations, team Spider.
