Are we likely to see Notorious back in a boxing ring?
It's been more than 3 years since that one time Conor McGregor stepped into Floyd Mayweather's house and challenged the self titled 'TBE' for all the marbles. Three years that have several ups and downs for the charismatic Irish man and three years of questioning, will we see him back in a boxing ring.
The only word to describe the amount of money in the sport of boxing is staggering. Depending which media outlet you read he made this hundred million or that hundred million, either way, it was a STAGGERING amount of money - so why would he not do it again?
The first answer to that question, is there anyone who can generate that revenue again? We've seen a Pacquiao fight teased, which could probably bring about a similar payday - Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury are in that popularity ball park, but unless Mcgregor is able to multiply himself in body weight that isn't happening, Canelo maybe?
Whether it was any of the above, a rematch with Floyd or A N Other, there would certainly be no shortage of fighters putting themselves forward for the fight, that's fact. But could Conor hang with them?
Many argued Floyd carried Conor for a number of rounds, while others argued that despite being outclassed towards the end when he started to gas, Conor had landed more shots on Mayweather than even Manny Pacquiao had.
Let's make no bones about the situation, McGregor is chalk and cheese. Some love him, some hate him, everyone watches him.
Will he comeback? We have to wait and see, he's teasing again with videos, but then so did Floyd in an octagon, remember?
