Cruiserweight tells Dean Whyte and Chris Ridgway it was 'professional decision'
Undefeated Viddal Riley, who was scheduled to fight on the Mike Tyson, Roy Jones Jr undercard before having to pull out with injury, says his decision was the professional thing to do.
The cruiserweight prospect, who trains between America and the UK, has boxing enthusiasts talking excitedly - a strong amateur career turning into a perfect start as a professional means he is a talent of interest to boxing purists, while commanding a large following through associations with KSI and his high profile rivalry with Logan Paul.
Having already gained high profile undercard experience, appearing on Manny Pacquiao's Las Vegas fight with Adrien Broner, Riley was looking forward to moving up the profile of the card.
"I was on the undercard of Pacquiao Broner, but not very high up - no one saw that fight" Riley told Dean Whyte on The Fight Buzz, "this show I'd done promo for, I had a hand in the production, I was higher up the bill"
As somewhat of a glimpse into the future of how social media and sports stars may combine, Riley has been very open with his followers and audiences about the fight, and reasons for deciding to pull out.
"This is why you have professionals around you" Riley continued, "you trust them with what is sacred to you, so you have to listen to them when they speak."
No official fight date is set yet for Riley's return, but a potential February/March timeframe has been set.
