World Champions, Past, Present & Future Discuss The Outcome Of Tonight's Main Event
Tonight sees Usyk and Chisora square off in a Halloween Heavyweight extravaganza on Sky Sports Box Office. We all have an opinion of how this fight is going to go down, so we decided to ask some boxing experts for their take on it.
Former WBO super featherweight champion and TV boxing pundit Barry Jones
Usyk win pts or stoppage rds 9-12
Former IBF Light Heavyweight champion Clinton Woods
Don’t really watch much boxing anymore, but my prediction Usyk forces a stoppage in middle rounds.
Former European light middleweight champion Former Brittish Middleweight champion and world title challenger Ryan Rhodes
It's a great fight for the fans but ultimately I expect Usyk to pull away in the second half to secure a points decision.
Former lightweight title challenger and the pride of the east end Kevin Mitchell
I can't see past Usyk points maybe even a late stoppage.
Former British Heavyweight Champion Sam Sexton
I hate to make predictions in boxing, but I know Derek has been training very hard. I’d imagine he’ll come in a little lighter this time. I’d probably say Usyk on points but I can see Del Boy giving him all sorts of trouble.
Former IBF bantamweight champion Paul Butler
I think Chisora is in the fight for 6 rounds, then Usyk finds the target more and more eventually it becoming too much. Late stoppage for usyk around the 10/11 mark.
Former WBU world champion and manager and promoter Carl Greaves
Style-wise Chisora is the perfect opponent for Usyk to look very good against. Chisora is big and powerful and he's definitely got a puncher's chance but I think Usyk will be too fast and agile, so I'm predicting a wide points win for Usyk.
Jon Pegg acclaimed professional coach
Usyk by stoppage or corner retirement around 8 or 9.
7-0 Professional and former amateur stand out Shabaz Maverick Masoud
I expect Usyk to come out, have a little look at Chisora early, whereas Chisora will be on the front foot from early on and going to Usyk's body, trying to slow his legs down for when they get into the middle and later rounds. However, Usyk will adapt once he has took a look and because of the movement and angles, he will cause Chisora nightmares and stop him.
Graham Everett Norfolk premier boxing coach
Would love Del Boy to do it, and he will give it his all, and give Usyk some difficult moments, but I have to say Usyk.
Former British Boxing Board of Control official and Queensbury promotions right hand man Richard Vaughn
I don't know about expert but my prediction is Usyk by stoppage in rounds 9-10.
Former English super featherweight and lightweight champion and British title challenger Scott Lawton
I expect a great fight with Chisora competitive all the way but Usyk to essentially outbox him to win a unanimous decision.
IBO Middleweight champion Nathan 'The Hitman' Heaney
I can’t see past Usyk’s extra class and expect a stoppage any time between the 5th and 7th rounds.
Former Commonwealth cruiserweight champion Tony Conquest
I see Chisora having some success early but down the stretch I see Usyk dismantling him and a possible corner retirement or compassionate towel throw from the corner around the 10th!
English title super middleweight mandatory challenger Jamal Le Doux
I expect Usyk to force a late round stoppage. A big test though.
Midlands lightweight mandatory challenger 'Flash' Kaash Buttery
I predict a strong start from Chisora & a TKO in rounds 6 to 8 by Usyk.
Riley Wilson, Essex based pro coach (look out for his fighters in the near future)
I think it all depends on how Usyk can perform at heavyweight; if he can do what he does at cruiser and use his feet I think it’ll be a shut out unanimous points win, Chisora is most dangerous if you stand with him and trade if he uses his feet Chisora will struggle to find the target.
TUFF Boxing Promotions owner and founder Simon Whittle
Usyk on points. Unanimous decision.
TUFF Boxing promotions expert and analyst, Jack Fletcher
Chisora v Usyk is going to be one explosive affair and as the saying goes styles make fights, my prediction is this: Derek is going to come out the blocks fast come forward aggressively throwing bombs. Usyk will box intelligently picking off Chisora throughout the fight not too dissimilar to what happened when he fought Bellew. Chisora with tire in the later rounds, this is the time when Usyk will exploit putting combinations together and then a stoppage will come for Usyk in round 9.
Welterweight contender Jamie Stewart
Chisora 4th round stoppage or Usyk points. Stoke loud and proud.
Stevi Levy 2-0 contender
Usyk round 8 stoppage.
