Teofimo Lopez Shocks The World !!

Shock result, but the right decision in last night's main event.

By Kyle Glombowski   - @intuboxing

An undisputed Lightweight champion at 23 years old?

The American champion has accomplished a lot more than anyone at his age. To capture all four ABC belts at such a young age is insane.

Despite the experience gap, Teo started out strong, and the King could not make up the ground necessary to take a decision.

The Matrix could not keep up with the code he wrote.

Teofimo started strong and became too much through the championship rounds.

Lomanchenko, was in there a younger, rougher champion who was ready to play his game. Teo took over early, and although the cards overrated his victory, The American deserved the decision.

The Decision

Teofimo Lopez won a unanimous decision,

116-112, 117-113, and 119-109.

Despite the sccores, this fight was much closer than the cards showed. Lopez Came out with a strong jab and a few good body shots, but Loma came out in the seventh and seemed to dominate up until the the last round, where Lopez and came out and showed his worth.

The Future

At the young age of 23 years old, Teofimo Lopez has set himslef a top a star studded division. Before he can really set himself apart from star like Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia, he has to show that he can beat Lomacheko, or one of those guys decisively.

Despite what the future holds, we know that the lightweight division is more star studded than it has been in years. If Teofimo can make it though Vasyl Lomachenko twice. He might be establishing himself as king for the next generation.
