Comosa AG have announced that fighters from the 140lb division will battle it out for the Muhammad Ali Trophy in the second instalment of its lauded World Boxing Super Series.

“We are very delighted to announce Super Lightweight as our second weight class of the upcoming season,” said Comosa’s Chief Boxing Officer, Kalle Sauerland.

“Super Lightweight is without a doubt one of the most action-packed weight divisions in boxing and we have a sensational line-up to be announced.”

Three weight classes will feature in Season II of the World Boxing Super Series with two categories, Bantamweight and Super Lightweight, already announced.

Sauerland confirmed on Twitter that fighters will be confirmed 'this week day by day':

In a division which includes many unbeaten fighters such as Josh Taylor (fresh off his unanimous decision victory over Viktor Postol in Glasgow last weekend), Regis Prograis, Antonio Orozco and Maurice Hooker, to name a few, boxing fans should be in for a treat.

Two other big names that spring to mind are those of Mikey Garcia and Vasyl Lomachenko.

Garcia, who beat Sergey Lipinets for the IBF World Super Lightweight title back in March, decides to move back up to the 140lb division after his upcoming lightweight clash with Robert Easter Jr, could be tempted to move back up in weight.

The unbeaten American may be especially tempted if Lomachenko, following his breathtaking victory over lightweight king Jorge Linares back in May to become the fastest three-division champion in history, decides he'd like the record for fastest four-division champion as well.
