British Super-Middleweight To Receive Summer Title Chance.

IntuBoxing has learned that British super-middleweight, Rocky Fielding is in line to receive a shot at the WBA 'Regular' super-middleweight strap in the summer.

Fielding (26-1, 14 KOs) ranked #5 by the Wolrd Boxing Association, has been linked with a plethora of opportunities of late, including a shot against WBO champion, Gilberto Ramirez. Sadly that fight never came to fruition with Mexico's first super-middleweight world champion fighting Alexis Angulo at the end of the month in Oklahoma City. Fielding has also been mandated by the International Boxing Federation to fight in a final eliminator against Caleb Plant, but it is now thought he is in favour of a bout against Germany's Tyrone Zeuge.

Zeuge was thought to be fighting John Ryder, ranked #3 by the World Boxing Association, later in the summer. But, it seems that the Islington man will instead fight Chris Eubank Jr on the undercard of the World Boxing Super Series final, with both men serving as potential reserves should WBC 'Diamond' Champion, Callum Smith, and WBA 'Super' Champion, George Groves be unable to compete.

Zeuge (22-0-1, 12 KOs) claimed the WBA belt after defeating Giovanni De Carolis in a rematch in 2016. The 26-year-old German has since gone on to defend his title three times including two wins over Isaac Ekpo and Fielding's fellow Liverpudlian Paul Smith.

It is thought the fight could be formalised as early as tonight.
