Linus Udofia takes on Denzel Bentley for the vacant British middleweight title
Wasserman Boxing raise the curtain on their TV deal with Channel 5 as they bring a British title fight to terrestrial TV this Friday, as Linus Udofia battles it out with former British middleweight champion Denzel Bentley for the vacant British middleweight title.
Udofia enters the bout undefeated as he holds a record of 17-0, and his worked his way up the rankings in a career spanning over six years. In 2019, Udofia won the Engish title via majority decision over Tyler Denny. In 2020, Udofia built on this victory by stopping John Harding Jr in nine rounds, in what was considered a 50/50 fight live on Sky Sports.

Last time out, Udofia stopped Xhuljo Vrenozi in three rounds in October 2021. Following this bout, Udofia was mandated to fight for the British title.
Bentley has held the belt that is on line before. Bentley impressed in his career, and built a 13-0 record before facing fellow middleweight prospect Mark Heffron. Bentley and Heffron spectacularly fought to a draw, which lead to an inevitable rematch. The stakes were raised in the rematch as the British middleweight title was thrown into the mix following Liam Williams vacating the belt. Bentley broke down Heffron in the rematch, causing grotesque swelling over Heffron's eye prompting him to retire in the fourth round.
Bentley then faced mandatory challenger Felix Cash next. Bentley lost his title in three rounds as Cash knocked him out in three. Bentley dusted himself off and got back into the ring just over six months later as he stopped Sam Evans in three rounds.
Cash vacated the belt, and also mandated Bentley a shot to regain his belt, and that will come this Friday at the Indigo at the O2.
The undercard sees Josh Kelly look to bounce back following his unsucessful challenge for David Avanesyan's European title. Kelly, previously touted to be Britain's next big thing, will be looking to add substance to that statement as he takes on Xhuljo Vrenozi in a ten rounder.
Harlem Eubank returns to the ring against veteran Sean Dodd. Dodd is in the latter stages of his career, but is still a tough test to any prospect. Eubank will be looking to push himself into a title fight with a big performance here.
Middleweight prospect Brad Pauls looks to move to 16-0 as he faces a tough test with domestic rival Ryan Kelly. Katharina Thanderz will be looking to bounce back from an unsucessful world title challenge against Terri Harper last time out, as she faces off with Tereza Dvorakova.
Moldova welterweight prospect Constantin Ursu hopes to impress again as he looks to move to 5-0.
Finally, Harvey Horn looks to return to winning ways following his first career loss last time out.
