Eggington is always a game competitor, who is very rarely in a boring fight, as his come-forward style almost always supplies fireworks throughout his fights. Eggington has some very credible victories on his resume at welterweight, including the talented amateur and local rival Frankie Gavin and former world champion Paulie Malignaggi. Eggington switched to super welterweight when he lost his European title to Mohamed Mimoune, citing being weight drained as a factor leading to defeat. Disaster struck in Eggington's third fight at super welterweight when he was stopped in two rounds by Hassan Mwakinyo in a seismic upset, derailing Eggington's momentum.
Eggington returned at super welterweight, defeating Sam Omidi on points. Eggington would take a tough fight following the Omidi win, as he would face former world champion, Liam Smith. Eggington would be stopped in five rounds. Eggington would return to the small hall shows for two fights before being drafted in to headline a Matchroom Boxing Italy show, where he would stop Orlando Fiordigiglio in two rounds to pick up the IBF International title. Two fights later, Eggington would lose that belt in an absolute classic with Ted Cheeseman which could have gone either way. Despite another loss on his record, Eggington had impressed and was still considered a contender.
Eggington would return at middleweight and would face off with veteran Ashley Theophane. Eggington would stop Theophane in six rounds to make his return a successful one. Eggington picked up the vacant WBC Silver title next, as he outpointed former world champion, Carlos Molina. Eggington's next bout saw him in yet another fight of the year contender, as he took on the undefeated Bilel Jkitou. The pair put on a thriller over 12 rounds, which saw Eggington edge out a split decision to retain his belt.
Zysk is a bit of an unknown commodity outside of his home country of Poland, having all of his 18 fights on home turf. In a career that began in 2016, Zysk has defeated one-third of his opponents inside the distance, as he has six knockouts on his 18-0 record, one of which came against Jose Luis Castillo in his 15th fight. This will be Zysk's first 12-round fight, Zysk has only ever fought one 10-rounder in his career, and that was last time out when he picked up a unanimous decision victory over Juan Ruiz.
The undercard sees the rematch for the English middleweight title between River Wilson-Bent and Tyler Denny. These two first met in November 2021 and put on a great show. However, the bout was called to a halt in the seventh round when Wilson-Bent sustained a nasty cut over his left eye. The bout went to the scorecards and was declared a draw, which has led to this highly anticipated rematch.
