Wilder, Fury or Whyte? You decide.

After handing Alexander Povetkin his first stoppage loss on Saturday night at Wembley Stadium, Anthony Joshua confirmed he would ask the fans to pick his next opponent via a poll on social media.

True to his word, the heavyweight champion has posted the poll on Twitter, asking fans to choose between Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte for his next clash at Wembley on April 13th, with Wilder an expected early front-runner.

In his post-fight press conference, the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion said:

“If Wilder is not serious, there are other people out there. When they’re ready we’re ready. I’ll fight Fury if he’s ready.

“Boxing needs it. I’ve been the burden of my division. I’ll always knock them down one by one, but people have to be patient. Good luck to both of them.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn added: “I want Deontay Wilder because that is the biggest fight in world boxing. It would be the biggest fight in all-time British boxing history.

“It’s hard to leave Great Britain with this kind of support, but we have plans to take that legacy beyond Britain. We have plans to box in the U.S. and other territories. In 2019, you’ll see his first fight abroad.”

However, with Joshua's main rivals Wilder and Fury facing each other on December 1st for Wilder's WBC title, time will tell how worthwhile the poll will prove to be.
