Kuzmin gets the victory over Price

Kuzmin has his hands raised after Price retired hurt

By Bryan Connolly   - @IntuBoxing

David Price has retired on his stool after four rounds against the dangerous Sergey Kuzmin. At the end of the fourth round Price landed some big shots but, he looked like the pace of the fight was starting to get to him. As he took his seat in the corner, his cornerman called over referee Howard Foster and the fight was called off.

The giant Liverpudlian heavyweight started the fight well, and looked more the capable of handling the dangerous Russian. Kuzmin, himself grew into the fight from the second onwards and landed some shots of his own. The fight was very close and could have gone either way, if the fight went further, as both fighters were happy to stand and trade blows.

After the contest Price said, "I've had a slight tear in the bicep the last few weeks. We had to take the fight, and take a chance. At the end of the fourth it was barely movable. It's really frustrating, I would love the opportunity to fight him again with the right preparation."

It goes into the record books as Price's sixth defeat and hopefully he comes back and gets another shot at Kuzmin as the fight was getting exciting.
